About Rogers WAM at The Plaza

Rogers WAM at The Plaza is an amateur skateboard competition returning for a second year August 14 -17, 2008 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada at one of the world¹s best skate plazas. WAM is a four day event that includes contest, parties, and exhibitions.

The Format:

WAM’s contest format will be a jam style with participants skating in heats of three skaters for a three minute (approx.) time period.

The Cash:

$15,000 total contest cash purse plus best trick contest.

The Location:

Located in downtown Winnipeg, The Plaza at The Forks is Canada¹s best and largest urban skate plaza and bowl complex.

Since it opened in June 2006, The Plaza has been visited by some of the best pros and teams including Alien Workshop, Circa, and Fallen, as well as the Tony Hawk Secret Skatepark Tour. It has quickly become one of Canada’s most popular skate destinations.

The Plaza also won a 2006 Public Skatepark Award from Skaters For Public Skateparks and also a National Award from the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects.
